Matt is super busy….but new stuff will be posted soooon-ish.

Ryan Brubaker was taking polaroid portraits on Alberta for Last Thursday. And since Matt and I can’t usually get a picture of both us together with my ee100, we were glad to get such a good one. The hats were props they had with the set up. You can’t really see mine though..it was brown and flapper-esque.

Today includes, yoga, art framing, drawing, picture taking, and a bbq. Sort of in the order.

Do I need to go to grad school? Can I get a scholarship? Because I think going into debt thousands and thousands of dollars would take the bliss out of making art. Do I need refinement? Do I need access to all the art equipment?

so just another day where I start doubting. Passion,doubt,happiness,guilt…on and off…over and over.
But I think about anything else I’d rather being doing… and it comes up empty. So I just have to keep trying, waiting, working, and doing. Just keep doing. This is all I want to do.

These little ones can take such a long time, mainly because of the border. I have to keep it wet so the ink dries as evenly as possible, but at the same time keep the negative space empty and clean.

So I’m excited to be apart of a group show coming up on June 4th at

Its refreshing to be able to meet some local artist since I’m still new to the city and all of these solo shows are great…but not as great for mingling and becoming apart of the artist community here! so yay yay!

Tonight Matt, Laura, and I are going to dinner probably somewhere in the NW and then we’ll ride the trolley back down to the waterfront for the Rose Festival! Apparently the whole side of the river is covered in carnival extravaganza! Matt is bringing his camera so I’ll post some pictures when we get them.

So we made it home from our tour of the southeast. Lots of driving, family, food..and not a lot of sleeping. Next time everyone is going to have to visit us…

The weather is beautiful here in Oregon! Matt and I went to Astoria, OR on Saturday. Thats the town where they filmed “the goonies”. Its such a cute town. All the houses look extremely cozy and the view is amazing. Matt and I seriously considered moving there. But we would probably become extreme hermits if we did that. After eating lunch at a place called The Columbian Cafe, where they served the freshest fish and herbs, we decided to drive to Seaside. We walked on the beach and I found two sand dollars! Then we drove to Cannon Beach. This beach was busy with lots of people and their dogs and a shoe shuffling old man.

All of these places were only 1.3 hours away! Amazing!

We had so much fun we are going to take Laura with us and go again this Saturday! Pack a beach picnic and lay on the beach!

So now I am back to my groove of drawing and networking. I am trying to organize my life to be as productive as possible…
If its in the stars then we may be looking at houses to buy…soon….maybe….we’ll see.

Today’s plans include…

-buying kitty litter
-getting a few frames for a charity event I’m donating some work to
-taking portraits with a couple of our cameras (please come out sun)
-and going to Ned Ludd for dinner
…then maybe a drink at Tiga
