laura postcards

Here are some postcards Laura gave me awhile back. They were her grandmothers. I love em’!

So some recent news. Matt and I got a new couch! I would take a picture of it, but we loaned our camera to his sister, who is visiting London.

That is the couch! We got it in the grey stone color, neither of the ones in the picture. It was on sale and we love it! Its so deep so you can tuck yourself back in it comfortably! The one we had before, well it was a joke. It was like having a table full of yummy looking fake plastic food. It looked ok, but when you try to sit and use it…not made for actual use.

My last group of artwork is ready to be picked up at the frame shop. I can’t wait to see them all hung. Framing costs so much, but the art looks so finished when its living in its glass house.

Since Matt bought a new computer, I have his old one. I like our new set up. We have wireless now, so I can move all over the apartment. I can even control the music from my drawing table and not have to be sitting right next to the speakers! All we need now, is a bigger place to live in!

Ok, Well I better get back to the painting for Bob! and I hope this headache leaves me alone!

Oh about the cherry tree…I wasn’t sure if the cherry trees growing around the neighborhood were the real deal. What if I ate one and it was poisonous! Buuuuuuttttt, Sara Jane, who lives in Seattle, has one in her yard that looked the same! So I decided to try it out…and they were yummy. and I’m alive. So we have a tree full of cherries right behind our apartment! Too bad Matt doesn’t like cherries. Guess he’s stu.

val typewriter

Isn’t it weird when dreams have people in them whom you have never met, but they seem so real. I can remember the facial details down to the very core feeling of who they were. It feels as if I’ve actually met them last night in a lucid dream.

I don’t think he had a name but he was Indian(as in from India). He had curly black hair that may have been thinning a bit in the front He had a little acne and scars from it. His front four teeth were sort of rabbit-ish, but not in a non-attractive way. He wanted to marry me. He was taking over his father’s million dollar company and the first time he met me wasn’t right and now it was the the right time. But I was married to Matt (as in real life) and he wanted me to choose. He said beautiful things. His family was in the dream too. He had younger siblings and his dad was the quiet proud type that wanted to control everything.

Thats enough details to not bore you.

beacon rock view

Since our plans fell through to visit his family in Seattle, we decided to atleast go out of town a little bit. We hiked up Beacon Rock and took polaroids, had a rock picnic, and fed some really friendly chipmunks! We are going to try and go camping the next non-rainy weekend! Can’t wait!

Most of the art is framed for the upcoming show! They look great!

Lists of “to dos”

-finish attempting to make peanut butter ice cream (please work!)
-clean the thousands of hairs shedding from the animals…dust balls, hair balls, tumble kitties…
-finish the last 3 pieces for the show!
- start on a piece that I just got commissioned to do…this is the most exciting part of my to dos! Can’t wait, can’t wait!

Thats about it for now!

its good to sea you

here’s a different sort of piece I was experimenting with. More experimentations coming soon.

My etsy store has recently picked up! Its all such a learning process. Maybe I should have bought one of those etsy selling books or something…But I’m more of a doer than a reader when it comes to stuff like this. downfall? upfall?

Don’t forget to come to Tender Loving Empire this Thursday for some fun times! PRETTY PLEASE.

One of these days I would love to have an artist discussion on here. Or anywhere…anyone want to start a blog just for that? Like all the reasons why we do art. I’ve recently been watching interviews/documentaries on artists and its so interesting to see the differences in why people decide to make art. Some do it as more of a need to master a technique and others do it because they feel like they have to. Some people see the piece as merely a composition and others feel this deep intuitive meaning behind it. I can respect all of these aspects. But some are more up my alley. ;)

bye.
